Whole house systems usually only need servicing once or twice a year, and you could have your local HVAC contractor take care of maintenance for you while he is out cleaning the furnace or air conditioner.
- Noise: Although you may be able to find a quite model, many portable air purifiers are known to operate noisily. When you consider that this unit is going to be in the major living areas of your home, noisy operation could become very annoying. Whole house systems are attached to your furnace, and hidden from site. Any noise that the system may produce will go unheard.
- Energy Efficiency: Operating one whole house air purifier is much more energy efficient than running multiple portable units.
